The Pearson Test of English Academic is an examination intended to evaluate the preparedness of individuals who are not native English speakers to engage in English language education at the university level. PTE Academic was developed by Pearson in order to meet the growing need from institutions, government bodies, and other organizations for a more precise method of assessing non-native English language students entering the English-speaking academic sphere.
